TrySideDoor cover: resume writing services in India 2026, with a price table by tier from ₹500 to ₹20,000+

Resume writing services in India charge about ₹1,800 to ₹7,000 for a mid-career resume from portal and online services, and ₹9,000 to ₹20,000 or more from premium writers, as of October 2026. They are worth it when your resume is the thing holding you back. If a clear resume is getting no replies, a rewrite rarely fixes that.

Full disclosure: we run TrySideDoor, a done-for-you outreach service for job seekers, not a resume writer. Prices and claims below come from Naukri FastForward’s and GetSetResumes’ own pages, and from CVDesigner’s 2026 pricing guide, as of October 2026.

How much do resume writing services cost in India in 2026?

Most mid-career professionals in India will pay between ₹2,000 and ₹7,000 for a professionally written resume from a job portal or an online service. Boutique writers who interview you in depth charge ₹9,000 to ₹15,000, and executive or CXO resumes often cost ₹20,000 or more. GST of 18% is usually extra.

CVDesigner, a resume writing firm, publishes a 2026 pricing guide that splits the market into five tiers. It matches what the providers below list on their own pages.

Two providers with prices on their own pages, as of October 2026:

  • Naukri FastForward: its senior-level resume (8 to 15 years of experience) is listed at ₹4,492 plus applicable taxes. The page lists ₹1,102 for express delivery and ₹1,949 for super express.

  • GetSetResumes: a text resume costs ₹1,799 to ₹6,999 depending on experience, excluding 18% GST. Express delivery adds ₹500.

What do you actually get for the money?

For a few thousand rupees you usually get a writer who reads your old resume, speaks to you once, and returns a rewritten version in about a week, with a round or two of edits. Some bundles add a cover letter or a LinkedIn rewrite. None of them promise interviews.

Here is how the two providers above compare on what their pages say:

Two things stand out. First, the timeline: Naukri says final delivery takes about 14 working days on the regular plan, assuming two rounds of edits. That is almost three weeks of your search. Second, the writer only knows what you tell them in one call. The quality of your input decides the quality of the output.

If you are weighing Naukri’s wider paid bundle (resume display, job mails, recruiter reach) rather than resume writing alone, we cover it separately in our Naukri FastForward review.

Are resume writing services worth it for mid-career professionals?

Resume writing services are worth it for mid-career professionals whose resume hides their best work: long lists of duties, no numbers, a format that breaks in applicant tracking systems, or a career change the document does not explain. They are not worth it when a clear, specific resume is simply not reaching anyone who reads it.

A paid rewrite tends to help most when:

  • Your resume is over three pages, or reads like a job description instead of results.

  • You are switching function or industry and need the story reframed.

  • You are moving into senior roles where the summary and achievements carry more weight.

  • English writing is not your strength and you want a professional to polish it.

It tends to help least when:

  • You already have numbers, outcomes and a clean one or two page layout.

  • Your problem is silence after applying, not rejections after interviews.

  • You are applying mainly through job boards, where hundreds of people send in a resume for each role.

How do you tell if your resume is the real problem?

Your resume is the real problem if people who do see it still pass: a friend in your field finds it unclear, or you get rejected at the shortlist stage. If you hear nothing at all from most applications, the bigger problem is usually that no human is opening your resume in the first place.

Run this quick check before you pay anyone:

  • Give it to two people in your field. Ask them what role they think you are going for. If they cannot tell in 10 seconds, the resume needs work.

  • Count your numbers. A mid-career resume should show results in rupees, percentages, team size or time saved. If your last two roles have none, a writer can help you dig them out.

  • Check the first third of page one. That is where a reader decides. It should state your role, years of experience and two or three standout results.

  • Look at your reply pattern. Replies that end in rejection point to the resume or the fit. No replies at all point to how and where you are applying.

How do you choose a resume writing service?

Choose a resume writing service by checking four things: a real conversation with the person writing your resume, sample work at your experience level, a clear revision policy, and honest claims. Be wary of any service that promises interviews or jobs, because none of the providers we checked guarantee them.

Before you pay, look for:

  • A named writer you can speak to. A form you fill in is not the same as a call where someone asks follow-up questions about your work.

  • Samples at your level. A fresher sample tells you nothing about how they handle 12 years of experience.

  • Clear pricing. Check whether GST, express delivery, a cover letter and a LinkedIn rewrite are included or extra.

  • A written revision policy. Unlimited edits are common, but check how long support lasts.

  • Independent reviews. Several of the lists ranking on Google are published by resume services that place themselves near the top. Read reviews on neutral sites too.

Red flags worth walking away from:

  • “Guaranteed interview calls” in the sales pitch.

  • A writer who never asks about your achievements.

  • A finished resume that reads like it could belong to anyone in your role.

What should you ask a resume writer before paying?

Ask a resume writer who will write your resume, how they will learn about your work, how many edits you get, what is included in the price, and how they measure whether their resumes work. Their answers tell you whether you are buying a real rewrite or a template with your name on it.

Copy these into an email or WhatsApp message before you pay:

  • Who exactly will write my resume, and how many years have they written for people at my level?

  • Will we have a call, and how long is it?

  • Can you share two anonymised samples for people with around [your years] years in [your function]?

  • What does the price include: GST, cover letter, LinkedIn profile, express delivery?

  • How many rounds of edits do I get, and for how long?

  • What happens if I am not happy with the first draft?

What if your resume is fine but nobody replies?

If your resume is clear and you still hear nothing, the fix is distribution, not design. Most job board applications are screened by software or a busy recruiter before the hiring manager ever sees them. Reaching the hiring manager directly, with a short personal email, gets your resume in front of the person who decides.

You can do this yourself. Find the hiring manager for each role you want, find their work email, and send a short note about why you fit. Our guide to email subject lines for job applications has 27 you can use. The catch is time: doing it well for 10 roles a week takes hours.

If you would rather not spend those hours, TrySideDoor does it for you. For each relevant open role, we find the actual hiring manager and email them from your own inbox, so it reads like you reaching out personally. It costs ₹3,999 a month, about ₹20 per role, and if you do not hear back within 21 days, that month is on us. We send over 5,000 emails a month to hiring managers. One job seeker got 16 replies and 3 interviews within a couple of weeks. A senior candidate with 25+ years of experience who was getting nowhere on job boards started receiving a steady stream of replies.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a resume writer charge in India?

As of October 2026, most portal and online resume writing services charge ₹1,800 to ₹7,000 for a mid-career resume, plus 18% GST. Premium boutique writers charge ₹9,000 to ₹15,000, and executive or CXO resumes often cost ₹20,000 or more.

Is Naukri’s resume writing service worth it?

It suits you if you want a writer, a phone discussion and a cover letter in one package. Its senior-level resume is listed at ₹4,492 plus taxes for 8 to 15 years of experience. Naukri’s own disclaimer says it does not guarantee interview calls.

Do resume writing services guarantee interviews?

No. None of the providers we checked guarantee interviews or jobs, and Naukri FastForward states this in its disclaimer. Treat any service that promises interview calls with caution.

How long does a professional resume take?

Usually about one to two weeks. GetSetResumes lists 7 to 8 days for a text resume. Naukri FastForward lists a first draft in 8 working days and final delivery in about 14 working days, with faster paid options.

Can I write my own resume instead of paying?

Yes, if you can describe your results with numbers and keep it to one or two clear pages. Ask two people in your field to read it. If they understand your role and impact in 10 seconds, a paid rewrite will add little.

What should I do if my resume is good but I get no replies?

Change how you apply. Email the hiring manager directly with a short, specific note instead of relying only on job boards. You can do it yourself or use a done-for-you service that sends these emails from your own inbox.

The takeaway

Resume writing services in India are fairly priced for what they do: ₹1,800 to ₹7,000 gets most mid-career professionals a solid rewrite in one to two weeks. Pay for one if your resume hides your results. If your resume is already clear and the problem is silence, put it in front of hiring managers instead. That is what TrySideDoor does, from your own inbox, for ₹3,999 a month.
